Market Solution:
Identity and Access Management

Healthcare organizations must comply with stringent regulatory requirements such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Personal Cardholder Information (PCI) Data Security Standard, and other global requirements. These standards require organizations to implement security standards that protect patient data, billing, and credit data.

The Cisco Secure Wireless Solution helps healthcare organizations comply with regulatory requirements by enabling the following:
Information privacy and integrity
All information is encrypted as it travels over the wireless network. Cisco Secure Wireless solutions protect information such as prescription dosages from accidental or deliberate alteration as it travels over the wireless network.
Network access control
Before providing access to services, the network validates that the right user is authorized to access the network and the right application and that the user’s devices conform to the hospital’s security policy for required security software and settings.
Intrusion detection and prevention
Mitigate network misuse, hacking, and malware from WLAN clients.
Rogue detection and containment
Integrated 24-hour RF monitoring to identify, locate, and contain unauthorized wireless activity.

Cisco Secure Wireless
Cisco Secure Wireless enables healthcare organizations to confidently access medical applications and services, such as electronic health records, decision support, e-prescribing, and e-research. In addition, it offers the wireless foundation to deploy mobile care applications and location-aware services. Mobile caregivers can now access information and order services wherever they happen to be, using notebook computers, tablet PCs, wireless IP phones, and new dual-mode phones, which connect over the hospital’s Wi-Fi network when in range and the cellular network otherwise.

Cisco BioMed Network Admission Control

Market Solution: Identity and Access Management

As more and more biomedical devices are IP-enabled, medical facilities want to be able to leverage their existing network infrastructures to provide wired or wireless network access for these devices. But hospitals don’t want to manage multiple disparate networks, nor do they want to provision ports manually because of the added cost and delays. These disparate devices can pose significant risks such as viruses, worms, and other malware, which can severely impact the network security and availability. Connecting biomedical devices, plus guest and IT devices, to the IP network safely requires the ability to:
Isolate and protect the biomedical devices from other hosts on the IP network.
Distinguish a biomedical device from other types of hosts, and automatically provision them to their appropriate access capabilities and restrictions.
Provide flexible biomedical, IT, and guest access on all ports where necessary.
Provide Internet connections to guest users.
Manage devices on the network that are not part of the healthcare system, with the appropriate security and minimal impact on hospital resources.

The Cisco BioMed NAC Solution for Healthcare
The Cisco BioMed Network Admission Control (NAC) solution is an effective way for hospitals to automate the process of connecting certain biomedical, IT, and guest devices to the network, eliminating a time-consuming manual process. Cisco technology can automatically distinguish certain biomedical devices and provision the network for the appropriate access capabilities and restrictions. It isolates and protects identified biomedical devices from other hosts on the IP network to protect the devices from malware and provide the appropriate quality of service.

Cisco PCI Solution For Healthcare

Market Solution: Healthcare Security Solutions

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) was designed to protect customer privacy and credit card information. Meeting PCI requirements, however, can be challenging for many healthcare customers. This solution is a set of PCI audited architectures for remote locations, Internet edge, hospital campus, and data center networks, created to help with the design and implementation of network security for PCI compliance in the healthcare environment. In addition, Cisco PCI Compliance Services help healthcare institutions move toward achieving PCI compliance and then maintain a compliant state.

The Cisco PCI Compliance Service consists of four services:
Cisco PCI Gap Analysis Service
Prevent additional, time-consuming planning cycles by proactively identifying potential gaps and risks.
Cisco PCI Remediation Service
This service addresses and closes compliance gaps
Cisco PCI Remote Monitoring and Management Service
Protect assets, proactively, against new and existing threats through rapid incident identification.
Cisco PCI Periodic Gap Analysis Service
This service proactively identifies potential gaps and risks, helping you prevent additional, time-consuming planning cycles.
